BOOST Kids group classes are open to current clients and to the public!   Email office@boostbirmingham.com or call our office to inquire and/or reserve your spot!

Our BOOST Kids group classes will offer a fun way for children to build on a variety of developmental skills in a safe and engaging environment with same aged peers!  All classes are developed and run by staff occupational and speech therapists. We will be able to utilize our outside playground, large sensory gym, and treatment rooms where children will engage in games, activities, songs, and crafts to build on emerging skills focusing on engagement and participation with others.

The class ratios will not exceed 2 staff : 8 children so each child will benefit from direct therapist engagement throughout each class. Participants must NOT require one-on-one assistance and be either toilet trained or wear a pull up during classes.

*Refer a friend who registers for any of the spring group class and receive a $30 discount on your registration!*

Why preschool yoga?

Yoga has a variety of physical, mental and emotional benefits - even for kids! Practicing mindfulness, connecting with our breath, and strengthening bodies in a group setting can be fun and motivating for preschool aged children. Designed specifically for young children, our yoga classes will incorporate music, games, crafts, and exercises to teach yoga basics to improve skills in a variety of developmental areas.

Each 90-minute class will focus on:

  • Self-regulation - Breathing exercises, visualization, and yoga poses help develop emotional regulation skills. Kids learn to manage stress and control their bodies.
  • Attention and focus - Yoga poses and sequences challenge concentration, attention spans, and discipline.
  • Balance and coordination - Kids improve gross motor skills through challenging and fun poses, exercise balls, and obstacle courses.
  • Body awareness - Creative yoga games bring awareness to different body parts and how they move. This builds core strength too.
  • Confidence - Our encouraging instructors build self-esteem through non-competitive activities. Accomplishing new skills creates pride.

Led by BOOST Kids licensed occupational therapist and certified children's yoga instructor, activities will be adjusted, as needed, on an individual basis to ensure quality participation and fun throughout! Our goal is to provide a safe and non-competitive extracurricular opportunity for your child to enjoy with new friends.

Why social skills groups?

Join our exciting 6-week social skills group for preschoolers OR elementary aged children, led by our team speech-language pathologist! This small group setting focuses on building critical language, social, and play skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Each 90-minute session targets skills such as:

  • Early language concepts - We work on building vocabulary, following directions, answering questions, and using language socially. This lays the foundation for future reading and writing success.
  • Social skills - Children learn how to interact with peers, take turns, share, and solve problems collaboratively. This promotes friendship-building.
  • Group participation - The small group format encourages participation, listening, focus, and cooperation. Kids learn how to engage with others respectfully.
  • Collaborative play - Children engage in interactive games, crafts, role-playing and more. This teaches teamwork and imagination.
  • Attention and focus - Activities are designed to improve attention spans. The small group setting also facilitates focus.

The small 2 : 8 therapist to child max ratio allows for individualized attention to build confidence and new abilities. Give your child the social jumpstart they need for success at home, school, and in their community!
